It was a very mundane week. Lots of meetings and an impromptu review at work. I'm told I'm doing a good job.
Dinner and drinks Friday. I've noticed the majority of women I meet these days are married. It's left me feeling a little behind. I also now have a tendency to make a fool of myself in pretty much all social situations, but I won't go into that.
Took a class on book repair. Fixed up an old copy of The Conquest of Mexico and The Conquest of Peru. It was pretty fun, but took up most of the weekend.
Had dinner with my best friend Josh on Saturday. It was really nice. With work and things I don't get enough time to spend with the people I care about. I think it feels awful to try and make small talk with someone I've known for over half of my life.
Watched the movie District Nine. I hope they make a sequel where Christopher Johnson comes back and fucks up humanity.
No band practice this week. We were supposed to meet this kid that wants to join Alley Festa, but he never showed. I guess he plays keyboards or something. He seems pretty gung-ho, so I'm confused as to why he didn't make the meeting. We'll have to see how it works out.
I'm very proud of my friend Brett. I think he is making all the right moves. I have to admit I'm a little jealous. He says my problem is that I just don't care. Maybe there is some truth to that, but I don't know how to remedy it.
They've cut down all the hedgerows on the farm across the road. They piled up all the trees and brush, and last night they started burning them. There was probably about four or five big huge fires spread out over a couple acres. It looked really cool. All these orange lights in the snow against the familiar grey January in Michigan backdrop. One of those things that you only get to see when you live in a rural area. I wanted to walk out and take a picture, but it was just too cold.
I once saw a big male pheasant come out of those hedgerows and fly over into the other field. My Grandpa told me they like to live in hedgerows when I was a kid and he was teaching me to hunt. I wonder where he'll live now.
