play by play.
i was busy as shit all last week at work.
two actual questions we were asked by what are supposedly well qualified individuals:
"why does israel have zip codes?"
"can someone please tell me what country south korea is in?"
seriously? sometimes its hard to be helpful. it took me several minutes to gain my composure, and respond. hilarious.
the boss was telling me he is in talks with another local bindery about moving in to our rental space and combining forces. looks like it's going to go through too, so thats cool. i'm pretty excited about it.
heard dixie dave collins shot his toe off whilst cleaning his favorite shotgun. if that's not metal i don't know what is.
friday, finished watching all of 30 rock. i love that show. i think it's funny how tina fey's character is some kind of spinster considering that she is easily one of the more attractive women in show business. at least in my opinion. i'm sure there are plenty of other people who agree.
i'm almost done reading dawn by phil elverum. it's very relatable. i suppose quarter-life crisis are pretty damn similar from person to person. it is nice to read a shared opinion on the virtue of solitude though. i don't know if many young people these days appreciate or have the capacity to deal with isolation. there is a whole different mode of thought associated with being a sort of hermit that i think can be beneficial. not as a permanent way of life, but for a short time it can be good medicine. that dude is a fucking brilliant song writer anyway. this summer i'd like to spend more time at the cabin. i'd like to see the northern lights.
saturday i bought some new hand bindery tools for my class next week, went grocery shopping. the checkout girl made fun of me for buying cocoa puffs. drank a bottle of cider, a few beers, and a bottle of bourbon. it gets a little jumbled after that.
sunday morning band practice with alley festa. we worked on a couple tunes. played a camper van beethoven cover. we're getting pretty good as a trio. i hope we can play a couple shows soon. even if we blow it it would still be fun. watched the red wings blow it for the second time within 24 hours. took some shirts to be pressed. stopped at chops' to give him the bob probert autograph i had bought him for christmas.
i uploaded a couple songs i've been working on for the beast still roams. anyone interested can download them at:
mediafire
still have to pack my lunch and get some sleep so i can straighten some things out for random house in the morning.
i think i'll try to do this every sunday just to keep shit organized.

i love watching what people buy at the supermarket, when it's only a few things. and i take great pleasure when i have amassed several seemingly incongruent items. not that i imagine anyone is watching me, it is just for me. just like when the amount to pay comes to a perfectly round number. then i know i got just the right things. and i'll float out of the store.
what is it that you will be doing every sunday?
