so today i was reading that one internet site that's named for a guy and his list. in the rants & raves section there was a post about immigration (big surprise). anyway, for those who do't read that site very often, let me just tell you that to describe the r&r section as "chock full of racists" would be a vast understatement.
anyway, this post gave links to a website. i went to the site and among the various pieces of Hispanic-bashing, there was a video about how and why Hispanics represent the downfall of western civilization and America as we know it. Orale.
now, don't get me wrong - i'm very amused by racism and i like to expose myself to it so as to desnsitize myself to it and to take away the power that it has to get me upset. so i'm watching the vid and finding out why me and people like me are part of the problem when i see something that amazes me -- the film-makers actually go "there".
yep. they draw a link implying that Hispanic immigrants are responsible for the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks.
now, being a patriot as well as a man of the people, i found this just amazingly disgusting. so i look up who this site belongs to and i trace them back through the registrations of their domains and what do i find? that these folks are rapid supporters of Pat Buchanan. in fact, they even own a domain that has his name in it (of course, there's a disclaimer on that domain's site that says they are in no way affiliated with Pat Buchanan -- yeah right).
i dont' really konw what all that means, except that there are a lot of people out there who will say and do *anything* to try to sell their point of view. my perspective on most issues is pretty much akin to Penn & Teller's TV show, "Bullshit" -- just lay out the facts and don't give me a buncho f lies. if you don't like something, just sack up and say, "I don't like this." don't try to sell me some phony-baloney psuedoscience that supposedly proves that your point of view is eternal Truth (with the capital T).
trust me, no matter what you think, you don't have perspective on Truth. as Brother Nicholson said those many years ago, "You can't handle the Truth."
