The holidays have been hectic already, and I've still got Christmas and New Year's to go. The ATLiens Christmas Party was a blast, and I met a lot of really cool people there. Can't wait for the next event.
Last night I organized a surprise birthday party for a friend at Sushi Yoko (my favorite sushi place in Atlanta). Had one of my girls, Nicole, bring her thinking it would just be the two of them, then when they came into the tatami room, everyone was there. We had a great time.
Unfortunately, after dinner the brakes on Nicole's Land Rover went out when she was merging from 285 to 85S. She slid across the freeway and slammed into the retaining wall. Luckily, there were no bones broken, and she didn't hit anyone else. Her vehicle is totaled, and she'll be in a fair amount of pain the next few days. And she doesn't have insurance of any kind, either -- those x-rays at the ER will not be cheap, I'm sure. What also sucks is that I'm going to be heading back home to Louisville for the holidays tomorrow, so I won't be able to help her around. She has a submissive of her own coming into town tomorrow though, so hopefully her sissymaid boy will be able to take good care of her while I'm away.
But, on the plus side, no one was seriously hurt. She's feeling pretty good today, which is a very good sign (usually the 2 days after a wreck like that are pure hell).

quirky:
That's why you don't own Land Rovers, man. They are more problem-ridden than KIAs.

Damn, glad your friend's OK. That's definitely a situation where a sub comes in handy!
