Can someone really change over their lifetime? I've read a few pysch books on the subject, witnessed friends and family over time, seen docos like the 7up etc series. I'm not sure. I think some people can change dramatically, and others very little. For better or worse. I do think that most of our methods of behaviour, or simply the way we think is mostly locked in by a very early age.
Made me remember an incident way back while I was at Uni. 8am Sunday morning, knock on the door. I'm hungover as fuck and the rest. Two smiling gentlemen started to talk to me about Jebus. I slammed the door in their face. It's not something I'm proud of.
The Jehovas paid a visit last night. I quickly changed the subject from The Four Horseman to travel. Jehova man was just back from Tasmania and we compared stories. He knew I wasn't buying what he was selling but it was a polite, friendly exchange.
Is that change? Or maybe just a bit of maturity? (And less hangover)
Not sure, maybe tolerance is a two way street.
