Got a phone call from a friend I hadn't heard from in quite a long time. He was doing well (engaged!), happy relationship, work was doing well. It was nice. And it got me thinking.
I though about all the friendships I'd had and lost over the years. Some friends just pass through your life, and you both move on. Many of these friends moved on to be very successful in business. Some were happy, some divorced and miserable.
Some had been burnt by drugs. I have nothing against drugs. But it was sad to watch them slowly spiral downwards. Not able to realise the concept of moderation. See a witty, funny guy, slowed down mentally several notches. Burnt. Nice if you have 'leave a handsome corpse' motto. For those around them, disturbing and distressing.
Others felt driven to amass great wealth. And their belief that once they were mega wealthy they would finally become 'happy'. Enough was never enough, trapped in a cycle.
I guess this is a blog about the past. Watching ppl make smart and stupid decisions and the consequences. Hopefull I've learnt some lessons from it all.
lmao not a mchappy post but there you go ...![robot](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/robot.fb056bc6fb87.gif)

The funniest catch up with an old friend (and Ive had a few) was a while back. We met up at this West End cafe, hadn't seen him in a long time. He spent the whole time, I think, trying to impress me with his wealth and whatnot. Then he described his girlfriend, which sounded more like an arrangement. The people at other tables around us were chuckling at all this loud enough to catch my attention. Funny and sad.
