Argh!!! My friends are forcing me to be....social... I hope I survive the experience. I've gone to alot of work to fashion a safe, sterile and dreary buffer zone between me and the rest of the world. And while I completely hate it, I still get agoraphobic when my borders are challenged. Particularly when I'm the one crossing them.
At work I'm social without any problems, because there's no real risk there. They need me too much, they even gave me a 4.6% raise the other day. They only hired me on from contractor to full employee back in August, which also included a big pay jump, plus the best benefits package I've ever had in my life. I've worked there a bit over a year now, and already managed to worm my way into "indispensible" status. I do love the feeling of going into someone's office and making their computer problems disappear. I get lots of hero worship that way...
