Wow. Hated & loved this weekend.
Jolene's roomate Jack had a stroke on Thursday nite. But she refused to tell me where she was or what the status was until I got off work Friday. Spent three days with no sleep & docs telling us he was brain dead.
Then, yesterday, as I'm giving here the 10 millionth pep talk (Jack & her are "hubby & wife" and take care of each other like they shared an ambilical cord) we walk inside, get in the elevator with a man that says "Hello, ladies, it's a lovely day". We give him the stare of death that only two girls who have been awake & bawling for 3 days can...
Only to find that he's the specialist that came in to tell us that Jack's going to make it...as long as he puts forth the effort to make it. And Jolene & I were ecstatic. Everyone's pushing for him, but we've spent a lot of time at UMC. I guess his AVM kicked off & burst some blood vessels in his head.
When he makes it back he'll have some trouble with motor skills, but will retain all parts of his present character. The totally random crazyness of it is he just took care of all his loose ends like he knew something would come up.
I'm off to catch some sleep before work tomorrow. Hope you all are great, lord knows I know what I have & am thankful for it today.
