So how bout an update?
Where to begin. Oh yea. Thank you.
I just wanted to thank all my SGers out there who have offered their support over the past two weeks. It's not bullshit when I say that you all really helped me get through everything. I'm blessed to have all of you in my (digital and actual) life.
So my trip to Minnesota was pretty good. It gave me an opportunity to get my mind off of my family stuff for a few days. The travel part of it all was brutal. Three hour layover on the way to. Fortunately I was able to secure a standby ticket on the way home and got in to Philly at 11 instead of 1 in the morning. Sweet deal.
Only down part of the trip was the ride from St. Paul to Rochester MN. The kid I was skating with decided to take a nap and I was left to listen to the radio in the rental car. The only stations other than country stations were public radio.
So I'm driving along and Prarie Home Companion comes on and Garrison Keillor's soothing voice lulled me to almost a state of sleepdriving. The more I listened, the more I thought about Anna. She and I have been apart for wow, almost three years. Yea, I think three. We used to listen to Prarie Home together all the time. I'd come home from games, lay down on her couch with her and just sleep and sleep. To be honest, I never slept as well with anyone as I did with her.
Long story short, I end up getting all misty eyed when I'm supposed to be the tough guy.
This morning on the way to the office, I was all out of it and walked past her without noticing her and she grabbed me by the arm. Didn't talk that much, she was waiting for a friend. Got to my office and got all misty again.
Oh well...that's that. This weekend I have a bunch of college games in West Chester, so I'll actually be in the state on a Saturday for a change!
Time to finish up the paper. See ya all soon.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE
Well, a big "thank you" goes out to Quietlythere, Godsmoker and the lovely Clover for making the trip out to West Chester to see me referee a boring college hockey game. It's nice to have a fan club! Next month I have a few games in Delaware. Hopefully they'll make it out there and hopefully the games will be more interesting.
I was running late for school today and managed to tear the muffler halfway off my car. See, Temple are a bunch of rimjobs who refuse to buy and then pave an abandoned lot students use for parking. Argh...just when I was saving money I have to spend it. Dicks.
