Good Lord was it a gong show.
Wow...another year, another tournament and this one topped them all. You guys have no idea what a crazy weekend it was. Most of it is a blur.
Got there Thursday night.
Drank.
Worked two games Friday morning starting at 8 AM.
Locked myself out of my room with no way to get in an hour before game time.
Friday afternoon I skated a sled hockey game. For the uninformed (and even the hockey crew here doesn't know) sled hockey is a sport for people who can't skate. They sit on these metal frames with skate blades on the bottom and propell themselves around the ice using two mini hockey sticks that have ice picks on the end of them. The same rules for ice hockey apply to sled hockey, only there's really no tripping.
I've worked games like that before and it's really a heartwarming thing to see people who through some circumstance have been dealt a bad hand enjoy something I take for granted. Don't know who I'd be if I couldn't skate.
Friday night the group went to some boring nite club in Wilkes-Barre. As is the status quo when I go out, I played set up man for three of my compadres.
Eventually we ended up back at the dorms and drank until 4. Slept til 11.
Woke up, broke the toilet somehow. Had to call University Services at Kings to get it fixed. Skated at 1. Drank. Had a great dinner. (Steak on a stone. Ask me about it later) Drank. Sat with my hands folded at a strip joint. Drank. Told a dancer I was a German exchange student and had "two American dollars, but many, many Euros." Drank.
Then today wasn't too bad. Had a friggin three ring circus of a game. Five fights in the third period. 35 Penalties total for the game...my buddy got hurt in another game, had to cover for him. Drove home. Ate dinner, went outside and trimmed the butterfly bush, watched Ali G. Trying to respond to people. Trying to stay awake. Catching up on sets...falling asleep...zzzzzz
Sorry for the stream of consciousness...zzzz...I'm boring...zzzzz
