Yes, it's been a crazy six months of complete lockdown here in Chicago. As long and as heartbreaking this time has been, we've also spent a lot of it learning, growing and finally catching up on sets.
One of my favorite new ways the SAD team has worked on growing our body of work is FINALLY pulling the plug on a beautiful new studio space. One of the many reasons decided to finally get a space was us really sitting down and talking about what's important to us - which when it came down to it, safety for our models was number one! Having our own space allows for us to have more room on set, which means our models can bring significant others or a friend if that makes them more comfortable, without it taking up precious shooting space. :) It also helps take us out of the AirBNB space when we can, because as we all know, AirBNB is not very SW friendly. :( Last but not least, it's located in an extremely safe neighborhood in Chicago, which makes us feel good knowing our models are safe from the walk to our studio to the moment they walk out! There are a variety of benefits to having a studio and how it makes it a safe welcoming environment for the people we work with. BUT ONE OF MY FAVORITE PARTS IS THAT SALLY THE SET DOG CAN ATTEND OUR SHOOTS MORE OFTEN! We are working HARD to renovate this space into an absolute dream. The photos were taken at night (ugh sorry we were painting all day) but it's full of beautiful natural light.
MODELS: What props, pieces of furniture or unique things you think we should include in our space? How can we help you continue to feel safe? We also want to use this as an opportunity to provide amenities such as towels, water, makeup wipes, sprays to wipe down the furniture for you etc. Let us know of any other amenities you'd like to see!
Peace, love and good energy your way - Scar 💖
