Hiya, sorry to hear about the job thing... Have you noticed that wherever you might work there's always at least one MF to really make your life miserable ?? I'm also looking for another job, I'm pretty fed up with some dickheads, just the sight of them make me want to become violent...!!
Apart from that, yes I've received the Puppy CD this week. I haven't had time to listen to it much but I've got a very mixed feeling about it. Some people on the Litany thread were saying it was the best Puppy ever... well far from that IMO, although there are some very good and/or interesting pieces on that CD. I'm not going to spoil that for you, let me know what you think when you finally get it !
So far there's one song I love it's "Scared".
Also, went to see Ministry recently, nice but I really should have gone a few years back. Oh well.
Going to see Jesse Malin this saturday (always nice, he's a really cool guy) and am impatiently waiting to see Covenant next month... that's about the news, the rest is in my journal (yes, I've finally updated it !).
Hope all is well
K
PS: why don't I have ever remember dreams like that ??

i have been suprisingly upbeat in my unemployment. it's fun.....i'm getting a ton of stuff done for myself lately...it's cool...my brain is working in weird ways. good ways...i'm learning Flash. i'm rebuilding our label's website. i'm working really hard on my personal web pages-re-writing, making mp3s, learning design...it's awesome...

Makes perfect sense. I agree! Create for yourself is a tricky phrase, and non-artists are always trotting it out to use against artists who go through dejected periods when they feel pained by their anonymity. I know what creating means in the phrase, but what does for yourself mean? They will say it means create for your own satisfaction, but what if your satisfaction involves (as it almost always does) the enjoyment by others of what you created?
I think most artists follow a particular avenue of interest in their music, painting, stories, whatever, and inevitably each one does so in a way thats distinct from other artists; in that sense, theyre creating for themselves. At the same time, I doubt many do this without caring if anyone notices. Im a writer and I wouldnt write -- or would write with much less enthusiasm and less often -- if I knew no one would read what I wrote, even though that does not determine my subjects.
Its tragic when you are up against other artists who get attention based on a lot of ballyhoo in the media or through advertising campaigns. I know how you feel and I sympathize. The way I deal with this internally is to tell myself I dont really want the audience that responds so easily to such appeals nor do I want an audience that is so apathetic about seeking other, less trumpeted art, since they often care less about art than about being cool and following whatever theyve been told to follow.
I also believe it's one of the tasks of artists to comfort each other in matters like these. Hope I helped.

by the way, it's a blow dryer not a straight iron. fuck an iron, i'd burn the shit out of myself. i don't have the time for that anyway...i mean, i do, but i'm not willing to spend that time on my hair of all things.

it's loungefest 2003 here at our house...2 out of 4 roomates are jobless..

i think was i'm artistic and creative at one time...but ive stifled my talents. i look at it and realize most likely i'm not going to make money being artistic. i dont have confidence in myself or anything i can create. i'm indimidated by other peoples abilities and figure if i got went into some sort of computer art field, i wouldnt get hired. so i didnt try. i guess i'm a quitter. man, i suck
so i might bail on Chicago early..my lease is until october, i definitely planned on leaving then...but, my recent unemployment has humbled me in any further life decisions, as well as affecting my possible stay here.
basically i think i have a way out of my place, and a person to put in that is friends with all my roomates that needs a place asap.....

You seem sad. (Yes, I'm back! Changed my billing method. It's now going to involve sweeping up, cleaning the latrines for SG ... )
Hey, would going back to recharge with the family be such a bad idea? Seems like you can be a big boy and still accept Mom's kindness. God knows I would, if she was around. Chicago is a brutal place to try making waves in, unless you fall into the lake. And in the lake, just as in the city, other waves can cover you up fast.
Edited to include this: Is that your artwork? I like!

Hey you,
Funny saturday night ? read mine in my journal
Well, I'm feeling better now, no choice anyway.
What I was saying about the bands is that sometimes there's stuff you really think you should hate & then you realize that you were all wrong. I think that getting old you tend to be more open-minded or wise ? Hopefully so... About Fear Factory, I never liked when the singer thinks it's a good idea to vomit in the mic (you know this death/doom/whatever barking). Shame because the album remixed by Rhys Fulber was musically rather interesting. But there's the voice. Oh well.
Can you believe I haven't checked Synnove's sets yet ? I guess I'm s'posed to be on this site for the beautiful girls but I think the diary/board thing is much more interesting. And frankly I couldn't call SG "porn". I mean what am I to do ? Wank on someone's pic and then say hello
About SP, I actually don't listen to the records much because I want to keep it for the right moods. Emotionally speaking, The Process is unbelievable. For me it's up there with 17 Seconds in the most "disturbing" albums of all time. Jahya always make my hair do a standing ovation on my body when I listen to it. And all the other songs...
Gotta order the latest live brap thing & the platEAU one soon.
Finally, nothing new in the UK. Blair still thinks he's ruling the world while his country falls apart
I wanted to ask you. Do you like Numb ? Their 1st record for me was genius: starts fast & electro & ends up very slow & experimental. It was issued in 1986 but it's still a masterpiece through this day.
I forgot, Covenant is playing in London early April. Now THIS is cool. Just bought the "Bullet" DVD single. One of the best promo vid ever !
