Im so pissed off, I got a letter from SAAS (student awards agency scotland) telling me that I apparently owe them just over a grand. I'm really not sure if i do or not, I've been trying to find out from them what the reason is. Its from session 2006/07 which was one of the worst two years of my recent life so my memory of filling out the form is kind of not so great.
I also hate talking to SAAS about this stuff because the don't seem to understand that my dad hasn't worked since 1996 due to ill health, its not that hard. He was on benefits 2006/7 theyre saying I filled out my dad as having a PAYE income and not my mum at all. It seems to me that I have accidentally filled out the wrong pay under the wrong name then later they have asked about my mum and i have sent them her P60 and they have thought we had double the income we did. But they can't tell me that because they're not allowed to tell me my parents income despite the fact that I filled out the form in the first place and the fact that I'm not an idiot and could guess from our standard of living what our rough income is. They can however send out the details to my parents. So basically I cant sort this without them knowing which will stress my mum out further, gee thanks.
If I have to repay it it can be done at 40 a month so I can leave some cash in my uk account for that and keep a close eye on it. Or I can try to find the money before I go, I dont have a lot left to sell and its meant to all go to the oz fund. Creative suggestion-if everyone on my facebook friends gave me a mere 7 it would be covered but im not dead sure people would go for it. Predictable suggestion-there must be someone who would pay to see me naked (is knackerdlassiesinjammies.com still hiring?) but i really don't think im going to make a grand in a month and im very bust with other work etc.
So, if you had to make 1000 quickly, how would you do it? This is not going to stop me getting on that plane. It would take a fucking army to keep me away by this point.
xx

meh not really but its still money at the end of the day, especially if your sat on the internet alot of the time doing nothing, building up a fan base takes time but once you've got one you can often even arrange private sales via paypal if they want something special and only for them etc.
