one of the few good things about cold weather is that I can put bottles of beer in the space between the inside window and the storm window and, hence, I don't have to walk all the way to the refridgerator if I'd like to enjoy a cold beer. I just discovered this and I think it's ingenious. what the saying? laziness is the mother of invention?

Nice! You could invent some sort of... invention! Like, a little door for quick and easy access to the beers.

Maybe even an extra bit that connects to the storm gutters so fresh (sort of) snow can come down INTO the window and keep the beer extra icy cool.
