Kind words, brother. You're not the first peson to tell me that either. For a time, I did actually aspire to a career in writing, but after a few years of buttin' my head against the wall I realized that mainly what I am is a decent wordsmith, not so much a story teller. My best stuff tends to be too personal and too occluded for any kind of wide audience. Nowadays I mainly write therapeutically with no real thought toward any kind of distribution. It just tends to work better that way.

That's so cool that she says "git". It's a Britishism, I think a variation of "get". In the senses that your Dad "begot" you on your Mom so you're a "get" or a git. But it's a contemptuous term, remember "I'm So Tired" by the Beatles.
