Here's a mildly drunken post from your favorite coughee! I need to change my username... I really hate it, I would never have picked it if I'd known this was a fucking "community", and I'm taking suggestions.
tonight: The Skulls w/ The Mansfields and Stoli and the Beers
A fine and dandy punk show. Seriously punk punk... I just love it. I love the 2 minute songs with nothing but I IV V power chords. I love mohawks. I love music that's too loud. I love the attitude. I love the philosophy. I'm not a punk.. I probably couldn't name 10 punk bands if my life depended on it. I sold my one Ramones CD years ago. But I have great respect for anarchy...
I also love cruise control, and I'd have wrecked many times without it. I refuse to drive drunk, but I often drive TIRED. It's nice to have one less thing to focus on when you are trying your best to stay awake and not kill anyone.
I would like to state for the record that I was in a "the" band before anyone had even heard of the strokes. The Chesters existed for a few months in Houston, TX... it was my name idea, and I just felt that it would be cool, since nobody ever named bands "the" anymore, to bring it back. My first suggestion was The Stereophonics, but someone had taken that already. Plus the other guys thought it was stupid. I'm such a fucking trend setter. In my own little world of delusion, anyway. We played an awesome punk cover of Ring of Fire and that was before Johnny Cash had become trendy again. In retrospect, I cannot fucking believe how far ahead of the times we were!
Our lead guitarist looked just like wigglefree.
Long live The Chesters. In memory only.
