turf

so i've had this account renewed after being absent from it for like a year, and once again i'm finding out that i wasted my money. alright, the site itself is not such a bad one. my main problem is the whole scene behind it. i find that now that this whole punk/goth look is kinda trendy and hip in an urban chic way, it's goood that it's accepted but on the other hand it pisses me off that when i looked and dressed this way in highschool i got picked up, beat up, and shitted on. i find that a lot of these 20-something new skool Suicidegirls types have had no real experience with growing up within the scene, they just naturally gravitated towards it cuz it's now so suddenly cool and "different"

i also have found very little use for this journal thing. i'm on livejournal too (it's linked on my profile) and it seems to operate much more smoothly. on live journal you can search people according to specific interests. the reply feature is much better on LJ too. you write a post someone replies, you reply back to it. on and on. i mean i've been back on this site for how long now and still haven't been able to find any like minded people. and i mostly blame the lack of an "interest" search.

the only way that i really see any chance in meeting new people on this site is commenting on random peoples journals and hoping that they comment on yours and get the ball rolling that way. but that just sounds rather insane to me.

oh yeah and that horrible dating profile/status feature. what the fuck i filled out my profile and checked for matches and it only listed ONE single person and he seemed to have very little in commn with me as it were!
