We're supposed to get a nice thunderstorm tonight, and I can't wait. I'm in the mood to get rained on.
I haven't been doing much the last couple of days other than watching movies and reading. That's alright though, because I haven't done much of either of those things lately. I guess you could say I have some catching up to do. Of course, it doesn't lend itself to very interesting journal entries, I guess.
I started reading Dharma Bums on the train ride back the other day. It isn't all that impressive, though it is a remarkably easy read. It did hit the spot since I was dozing off every once in a while anyway. It's interesting that Kerouac is spouting off about Buddhism like he's some kind of monk in one chapter, then he basically says that he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. I'm more inclined to believe the latter, just because he seems like that kind of guy. He doesn't really have anything interesting to say about it, but considering that the book was written in the 50s, I'm guessing that he probably impressed a lot of people at the time by writing about stuff that few people were familiar with. Oh well, I just want to finish it so I can move on to something else.
And that's just what I'm about to do...
update: I think I managed to completely alienate myself from two of the three girls I talked to today. That's not a bad ratio, huh?
I also just finished watching Donnie Darko. I'd never seen it before, and frankly I don't get why people think it's so great. It's pretty damn funny, I guess.
Update update: Thunderstorm? What the fuck? There's nary a cloud in the sky! Someone's gonna pay.
