Hmmm...my landlord told me a coupla weeks ago that they (meaning the Polish construction workers) were going to replace the roof on my building. He was by about a week ago and mentioned that they were all done with that. You may remember that they were replacing the siding last week.
Apparently they didn't quite finish the roof, or more likely didn't ever start it, because they tore it off today, going until 7pm.
My concerns:
1. Since they tore the whole thing off and I can look through the light fixture in the living room and see the sky, what's going to happen if it rains? It is Friday today, and I'm guessing that these folks aren't going to trek over here on the weekend to work on my li'l roof, so I think I'm going to have an ersatz skylight for a few days.
2. Why did my landlord think they had replaced the roof if they actually hadn't? It'd be pretty damn funny if they were trying to scam him.
Actually, it'd even be funnier if he caught them and brought down the thunder. No one messes with ol' six-gun Clare!
