The Money Shot
Most of you probably know where the term 'money shot' comes from. For those that don't, its the clip in a porn film where.....well...you get the idea. its when the money is made . I think there is something similar with SG sets...although not quite to obvious. I think there is always a few pictures in a set that have 'that' quality that makes you want to see the rest of them. its probably different for each person....but maybe not. I catch myself looking through a set and stopping on a 'wow' picture. Everything just worked right!! The model...the pose...the lighting...the setting...the attitude....and on and on and on. Sometimes there are more than one of these pics and I guess that makes it a super set .
For me, it is rarely one of the nude pics. Maybe there is something about nudity that can draw your eye away from other, more subtle qualities of a photo. Maybe that is when the 12 year old boy comes out and I react with, "cool....she is naked!!". The great thing about SG is that most sets are an evolution of time/story and I think that really draws out the talent of the model and photographer.
I often wonder as well if the model and/or photographer know it is a special pic when they take it. Is it instantaneous?....do they have to see it afterwards to tell? My guess is that its a little of both.
