Just as I was about to get into the shower tonight my mom called. I've been trying to call her all day. I was a year ago today her heart stopped on an operating table during a 'simple' operation. A bunch of people I've never met gave her back to me.
Today she called to tell me that my ferret died today.
I was bawling my eyes out in the shower. She said my other ferret is depressed, he'd had Minx there his whole life and now she's gone.

losing family members (whatever the species) is heartbreaking. i am happy to hear that your mom managed to get a hold of you, but it's too bad the news was as it was.
