Ok. I've told my girlfriend so I can now announce it here. Why I'd want to do that I don't know but any reaction or comment is interesting.
I will soon be applying for a position as an Officer in the British Army.
I have tried to achieve certain goals since leaving university and I feel that I have not accomplished them. Therefore I have one more chance to do the second thing I wanted to do all my life; challenge myself and others physically and mentally to a massive cooperative goal.
Every minute I spend behind a desk I feel weaker, more sick, wasted and redundant.
I don't believe, either, that when we were running from the centre of London on the day of the bombings that I was running in the wrong direction. I am fit enough and bright enough to assist and coordinate in those situations. And I want to.
Now I just have to work out the practicalities. I have to impress the commisions board and receive training at Sandhurst. Then I can do something to a greater end.
