It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood...
Seriously. Next few days have highs around 70 (21C), lows around 50 (10C), low humidity, nice crisp blue skies... Perfect! I am so ready to be done with summer, but not ready for winter. Unfortunately, Missouri has a bad habit of giving you all four seasons in a couple of weeks.
I've been stressing a lot lately - all in my own head, of course. I'm finding that the older I get, the less I want to be a grown-up, and the worse I get at being one (those aren't unrelated). I was an uber-responsible kid, always very "mature" in my behavior. And that's a habit of 50 years, so hard to break.... But I really find I don't want to be responsible any more. I don't want to be tied down by my lifestyle, as I most surely am. I want to be unfettered. In the words of the dear sweet Apathy, I want to be "a little feral."
But I don't know how. And I won't let myself drop all my responsibilities - instead I just suck at them and hate myself for it.
Ok, that's enough of that. I think a walk is in order, to enjoy this beautiful weather.
