Well, the workouts have been going great! I'm actually almost enjoying them, and I can definitely feel the effects. My trainer is so cute -- she's 4'11" -- I'm 6'1" And she busts my ass! But that's what I'm there for, and she's really great about it, so I'm happy.
My nephew is visiting us this weekend. He's a great guy. He just finished his master's degree in botany (or something very like that, anyway) at the University of Washington, and is now touring across the country visiting relatives and just seeing the sights -- travelling mostly by Amtrak and staying in hostels if there are not relatives around. In October he's off to Nicaragua for an undetermined time (probably a few years). He'll be doing volunteer work there, and hopefully eventually some paid stuff, and trying to also put together an atlas of Nicaraguan plant species.
Next weekend I'll be in Seattle again, for a board meeting, and then at the end of the month and into early October I'll be in Montreal for a week for a work-related meeting (and some photography/sightseeing time). Lots of traveling, but it should all be fun. Good people in both places.
Today Sierra (my nephew), Amanda (my wife) and I went for a walk down the bed of a local creek (mostly dry this time of year). Here are some photos from it.
Somebody leave me some comments -- last blog was another strike-out.
