So, with a little prodding from my wife, I've decided it's time to actually do something about my uber-sedentary lifestyle. I'm tired of having no stamina. We've started going to the Student Rec. Center at MU -- it's brand new and really fantastic. All kinds of equipment, and all for a fairly reasonable price. I'm signed up to work with a trainer, too. She's ACE certified and a physical therapy senior, so I think it should work out well. Today was the first session, which was just an assessment. I've been doing some cardio stuff this past week, and Monday I'll start doing other stuff under her direction. We'll see. I'm a true geek and have always been very exercise-averse. But I know I need to do this. Wish me luck!
Did you all read Napalm's latest blog entry? She's moving to Chicago and no longer the photography coordinator at SG HQ. That's a real loss -- she's be wonderful at her job, always helpful and supportive. Willing to talk about things honestly, always friendly. I will really miss her -- and this from a guy who got fired! Seriously, go tell her what a great job she did. I hope whoever takes over for her can do as good a job.
In a couple weeks I'll be heading back out to Seattle for a long weekend of meetings. Then in another couple weeks I'll be going to Montreal for more meetings. I'm taking extra time in Montreal to do some picture taking, and general hanging around. I'm planning on meeting up with the lovely Apathy while I'm there, which should be a blast! She's been a hero of mine for quite a while. Making choices I never had the courage to make and living a life I've only ever dreamed of. She is, for me, the Road Not Taken.
I'm hoping to get some work done this weekend -- stuff that's needed doing for some time. We'll see. Lately I've not been very successful at getting things done. Maybe all this exercise will help.
A friend of mine in Texas is selling little hand-made dolls. They're absolutely adorable. I'll post some pics below. The little ones are about the size of a chapstick -- great for key rings, zipper pulls or whatever. the large ones are maybe two or three times bigger. The little ones are just $3.50 + s/h and the big ones $7 + s/h. Let me know if any of you are interested!
Well, that's it from here. I'll leave you with a nice pic - an oldie but a goodie. Y'all take care.
