Well, in less than three weeks we'll be down in sunny Mexico at the Ujena Bikini Jam. I sure hope it's cooler there!
Once again we're pushing 100 (38 for you metric types). At least I seem to be getting away with wearing shorts to work when it gets this hot. One of the advantages to sitting in an office all by yourself most of the day.
In preparation for going to Mexico my wife and I have been tanning, in the hopes of avoiding too bad a sunburn. I've gone twice. The first time was 6 minutes on a Level 3 bed. No problems at all. The next day (on a 2 days on, 1 day off schedule) I went for 7 minutes on a Level 3 bed (different one, though). I came out of there with a sunburn all over me -- well at least that 50+ % of me that never sees the sun. Now why is that? I'm at the itchy stage now, so hopefully in a couple days it'll have all faded to tan and I can go back. I'm going to go just 6 minutes again, and not use the bed I used last (call me paranoid, but....). The sunburn is kind of interesting, too -- I'm bright red on my butt, and on the front between my pelvic bones (ileum), but the sides of my hips are just as white as can be. LOL I'm going to have to lie on my side one of these times.
Shooting yet another set with Brixton on Friday -- it should be a blast and really an outstanding set based on her ideas. That lady is one helluva badass. I'm glad she's on my side!
I hope her WTBQ set goes up soon so we can submit this new one! I'm hoping to put together a weekend of several shoots in the Wichita area next month -- a weekend shootfest. Anyone interested?
I just ordered a new backpack that will carry both my honking huge Dell Inspiron 9100 laptop and my camera equipment It wasn't easy finding one that would accomodate that big of a lapwarmer. I still don't know where I'm going to put the power brick for it (it really is the size of a brick, too). Still, it will make it nice trying to do shoots out on the beach and such. Should be good for SG shoots, too!
I'm going to be going to a Tool concert next month in Kansas City along with my son and one of his buds. That oughta be a blast and a half! I'll have to remember to take ear plugs, though -- it's hell growing old!
Ok. Enough rambling for now. I leave you with another recent photo. Can you tell I'm really enjoying playing with side lighting and single light sources?
