Still with that soooo slow connection, I don't even bother to try to have a look to a set.
I have a pcmcia card for 3G connection that should gets to up to 500 kbps like a slow DSL,
But that's mainly in the cities, even though advertising says everywhere.
And in my house and as most of the place where I need connection I only get the gprs connection, that's like a good old crapy modem speed as best: less than 55 kbps.
To give an idea: it takes about 6 minutes to load the SG's cover page.
I still have to wait until September to have a "almost" normal phone line. The connection box was full and I have to wait until Telefnica changes it before they can connect me. Still though, because of the distance to the urban zones, it's a "rural" type of phone with antena -no wire-
What's the difference?: Slower connection (max 512 kbps) higher prices, no company choice, no TV through phone option...
I'm living on a curvy road 8km from Tarifa (9 from Algeciras), right in the middle of Gibraltar's straight,
wonderful place, still quite savage and green, I cross my door and I see Africa just in front -it's only 15km distance- It seems odd to think that the mountain in front of you, on wich you can see the little white houses is another continent.
Thanks to my girlfriend's part owned company (a complicate inheritance story, thanks to the spanish legal system)
she's going to buy the 105 m2 apartement under mine, we'll be able to comunicate both and make a 2 floor 165 m2 house. We'll leave a couple of rooms for work, and the rest for living.
I don't think we'll have it ready for the wedding, but that doesn't mather. I'm in love with my girl and my new life.
Yesterday after the really stressy day, we just went to the beach at 6, took my kite surf gear the 8 m2 kite and got 2 hours on the water. A bit too windy (40 knobs guts) but: THAT'S LIFE biggrin biggrin
