First of all, I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas with your families. I spent mine at my sisters this year and it was really nice. We made some last minute decorations on Christmas Eve for the dining room, which was actually quite fun. I kind of forgot how much I enjoy making things, and getting into the whole arts and crafts thing. Here's some photos of me and my (heavily pregnant) sister making some paper chains! haha.
Christmas Day was fun and seeing how excited my nephews were was great. I guess it's true when people say Christmas is really for the kids! This has been my first Christmas not drinking, and if I'm honest it has been quite hard. I wasn't really expecting it to be, although I hadn't really thought about it, what with other stuff going on. It was mainly relatives offering me drinks, or a glass of wine and having to say no, or grabbing a coke or something instead. This was probably my first real test with temptation, however I'm glad I didn't buckle, I didn't want to. I haven't actually told all my family about giving up, I know I probably should but it seems really difficult to talk to them about it.
With the rest of my time off work I've mostly been doing some uni work and catching up with some reading, mainly the Amazing Spiderman and Game of Thrones (I'm only on book one but I'm nearly done, and I'm determined to finish it before going back to work). I've seen seasons 1 to 3 of the television series and I seem to imagine all those characters in my head now, which is kind of odd as it takes the imagination away from the book! However it has explained some stuff in more detail and gone into depth with the histories of the houses which I've appreciated. Personally I think my loyalties are with the Starks, but I could see myself on the wall if I'm honest!
Which reminds me, I got this awesome nights watch t shirt for Christmas.
I'd love to hear what you all got from Santa, hopefully everything you wanted!
Happy Holidays!
