well, i definitely did not start off with fire tonight. if i had, i would be burnt to a crisp. but i think i did pretty well. paul let me use his poi, which are chains about 2 feet long, one for each hand. instead of wicks, tho, these had far less dangerous and much cuter bean-bag-type cucumber stuffed animal thingies. i am truly amazed with myself, and it is always nice to prove to yourself that you can do something that you had so much doubt about.
i also volunteered myself quite suddenly to be site manager for burning ham, which is a party for those of us who (*holds back tears*) won't be attending burning man. it was a pleasant surprise when the people who are throwing the party showed up and i realized that i knew one of them. (in fact, she and i have sort of tentatively flirted for about 6 months now, but we both have busy schedules and have yet to have a chance to hang out alone. )

burning ham sounds like some kind of dress-up theme party that my friends might throw. Maybe there would be some police effigy.

Hope you get some quality alone time with your friend there.
