first off, icmn asked me to say sorry he didn't get a chance to update or give comments before he left town. he's headed for a folk music festival and camping. he asks that you pray to your respective deities (or whatever) that he survives an environment sure to be rife with political conflict. though you'd think folk music fans would be pretty mellow...
well since my updates haven't been great lately, and i actually have some events to recount, i think i'll do episodes rather than write one ridiculously long account. maybe i'll do some retrospection too, we'll see. if anyone shows interest i may even make it to the end of the two weeks.
(this is all regarding my trip to icmn's place in Humboldt county.)
let me give a piece of advice: never use amtrak with a power wheelchair north of Martinez. they will either send you a taxi driver that is misinformed (thinks your destination is about 250 miles closer than it is), or a regular taxi that cannot carry said wheelchair. i'm still not sure if it's really amtrak's fault or the bus service they contract. i guess i was lucky to make it up there and back, despite all the obastacles and delays.
the upcoming entries should be more interesting.
