Full disclosure here- 2 nights ago I had a panic attack at work. I almost quit, or rather, I tried to quit but my boss lady wouldn’t let me. She sensed something was going on. I got home that morning and started thinking about what had happened that caused me to be overwhelmed and more importantly how to prevent it from happening again.
I am a big fan of catchy mnemonics to help me figure stuff out. I created LECI, which stands for Learn, Explore, Create, Inspire. I refer to this as my moral compass. I even have it tattooed on my arm.
I needed to figure out what I needed at work. I work a very physical job so the ratios of importance might not be the same for you they are for me. But, here’s what I came up with- the work HORSE.
H- Healthy. hydrate, excercise/stretch, don’t skip lunch
O- Organized. Clean, neat, orderly.
R- Reliable. On time, not fooling around, trustworthy
S- Supportive. As an aspiring leader, I want to encourage the people around me to become better as well.
E- Ethical. Never compromise your values for a job.
i don’t if this will help anyone else, but I figured I’d share since it is mental health awareness month.
I truly love you all and am grateful for this community.
