This picture was taken 1 year ago today. The day I got my first tattoo. 33 years old. I had wanted one since I was 15. But, I hate needles. So, I was scared. One day, after making a huge paycheck (by my standards) I walked into an empty tattoo parlor just to get pricing and ideas of how, where, etc..
The artist told me “I could probably do that for about 100 bucks”. I said, “law of diminishing intent- if I don’t do it now, I’m less likely to do it tomorrow.” Turned out to be $60 plus a $25 tip.
On to the piece itself. It really means a lot to me. I had started to do some motivational videos on social media and came up with the motto “LECI” which stands for Learn, Explore, Create, Inspire. I decided to put those as the cardinal directions of a compass to represent a “moral compass”
It’s something I’m quite proud of, but more importantly- it taught me a lesson that it is better to do and not regret then to not do and wonder.
I now intend on getting many more and am just waiting for another killer paycheck.
