Ok, bought Guy Forsyth's new cd today and the second song has my new favorite mantra:
"What a beautiful mistake to fall in love"

In other news, turns out my spine is pretty jacked up. Doc #1 wants me to go get a myleogram, which involves injecting dye into one's spine; it also can result in migraine headaches that last for days. I'm leary of...

Every Sunday, there is one ad in the paper for a position I am interested in/qualified for. Every Monday, I send them a lovely cover letter, and a copy of my Very Spiffy and Impressive Resume. I wish one of them would get in touch with me. whatever

I've also been a daily visitor to craigslist, monster, and my alumni(CIA) job postings board.

GOT to get...

I hate it when I make "girl" mistakes. Like eyeballing a measurement instead of getting out a yardstick. Yeah, 3 footer. Nope, 28 incher. Any Saturday involving two separate trips to Home Depot, in an environment only slightly cooler than the surface of the sun, must end with consumption of frosty adult beverages.
Laura's rule, follow it.

I think it's officially the dog days of summer.

(Although, as a cat person, I'm not 100% sure)

1) Someone please tell my best friend(?)that sometimes it's better to just listen than give "reality checks".

2) Sometimes a great big cryfest is the best thing you can do for yourself.

3) My passionflower vines had 53 blossoms today. Fuck, this should have been #1. Good things first.

4) Yesterday I got vaccinated for Hepatitis A, yellow fever, and a 'script for anti-malaria pills....

On the weirdness scale, this one is turned up to 11....

My oldest brother, Bill, is and has been for many years, a drug addict and alcoholic. He is 57 years old, has hep c, and is pretty much estranged from our family. He does, however, live in Austin with his ex-wife, Sasha. She became his ex when she was serving time in prison for...

Ah, the joys of living with the elderly....every night at 8pm, we watch "Diagnosis Murder", starring both Dick and Barry Van Dyke! Now, this is a good way for me to spend time with my dad w/o listening to an angry rant about anything(except the length of commercials and how crappy tv is now compared to the 70s).
I find that continued exposure to Diagnosis...

Houston. Gotta drive to Houston for the second time in 5 days. At least this time I'll be solo and can listen to whatever strikes my fancy.
It cost me $65 bucks to fill up my truck. Never buy a vehicle with a 33 gallon tank. (And gets shit mileage to boot) Mind you, I love my truck. My relationship with my truck may be...

I've always been a night person. 3am, when the wind changes direction and gets soft. I can sit on the back porch, have a glass of something, and let my mind soar. Nothing is impossible at 3am.
pandoradawn:

i feel the same as you about the night and your mind soaring, it is a great time. here's to many nights spent that way.

My nephew is being deployed to Iraq.
His going-away party is in Houston on Saturday. His unit goes to training in the US for 6 weeks, and then they send him to hell.
Allen is such a good person, such a good hearted kid. He is only 20, and really kind of innocent for his age. Bless his heart, he was such an awkward little...
