Today I'd like to share something I wrote:
Here I am, staring up straight, in waiting. My arms open wide. Soft shivers roll down to my fingertips, in anticipation. The cool of autumn rests against my skin, prickling with oversensitivity. All I see is blue. The endless blue of the heavens. All that is around and below me has disappeared, no longer relevant, as it is in no way a part of this game. The sun is bright, though its warmth does not reach me, nor does its light blind my eyes. I am as immune to it, as I am to the growing breeze, that blows my hair about and up, reaching. The world is still, and to a watching eye, so may I seem, but I am nowhere close. Every nerve in my body twitches, and yearns, my heart pounds against my ribs that vibrate in small tremors, the foreboding music of suspense. My arms extend to either side, my fingers gently playing against the wind that whistles through them romantically. The sun is falling, the sky no longer heaven's blue, but rather taking on a tone of mystery. I am losing hope. Shadows are cast about me, and I can no longer ignore my surroundings, as I too am cast down upon them. My eyes break away from the now moonlit sky, and the cold wind whips the tears across my face and into my hair. I was a fool. I crouch down, and grab at the soil beneath me. Frustrated tears run freely, as I clench the smooth dirt against my breast, and it crumbles down from between my fingers; a painful reminder of the truth.
I hope you enjoyed.
