I set up camp with Vicky, Nadine, Nixxx, Caz, Mrmuddle, Yorkie and Mart. It was like we'd all been friends for years and everyone seemed to get on great.
On day one of the festival I got to see (in no order):
LINKIN PARK

IGGY & The STOOGES
THE HIVES
DISTILLERS
CRADLE OF FILTH
MONSTER MAGNET
OPETH
ELECTRIC SIX
PEACHES
The highlights of day 1's show were Cradle because they rule, also Distillers because I pushed right to the front to get a good view of Miss Dalle who was sporting a very Courtney Love style look to the point I shouted 'Are you Courtney in disguise?' Electric Six tore the place up with Gay Bar and a cover of Radio Ga Ga. Then Iggy created a riot when he told the crowd to invade the stage which they promtely did, fighting with the security as they did.
The UKSG's went off to meet their American counterparts, to whom we tried to say hello but were completly ignored.
We all retired to the tents and had a chill out and a few drinks.
Then came day 2 on which I caught:
METALLICA
KORN
SLIPKNOT
SLAYER
MACHINE HEAD
SOULFLY
ILL NINO
TURBONEGRO
HATEBREED
DAMAGE PLAN.
Highlights of day 2 came as follows: Well pretty much everyone band wise. Esp. Slipknot when I got into the madest pit I've ever been in in my life. Also on the Metallica set Lars was taken ill so Joey Jordison stepped up and did the most amazing job.
I caught the end of the SG Show when the UK girls came on and did their thing. I had planned to watch all of it but I was so pissed of with the reaction of the US girls to meeting the UK members that I thought they could go fuck themselves. Anyway nuff said on that.
Then came the truely magic part when the UKSG's out did themselves and produced some VIP passes for the lads and so the rest of the festival was spend in the VIP area and rocking the night in the Kerrang! Club until I could no longer stand up.
Finally I just wanna say thanks to everyone I went with because you guys helped make it one of the best festivals ever. I FUCKING LOVE YOU GUYS!!
