Okay, two weekends later, better late than later, huh, lol. Pics are finally up, so I guess it's time for details now. Not much so to say though, so I'll try to make it quick. Triple Threat wasn't as big as BBoy City, but it was still pretty good. And at this competition, they were serving drinks, so we were all shitfaced by 8 pm
.
Anyway, we get there after 5; me, Steven, Nelson, Jenn, Nikki, and Emily; and and chill for a while, watching the other dancers, saying wassup to the ones we knew, including our boy Dustin from Diverse Soulz. Jenn signed up for the popping battle, and so did Dustin. Funny thing was, when the comp started, they had them battle each other in the first round, lol. It was a pretty fucked up stroke of luck, but they still both ripped it up out there. Dustin won it, it was still all love between the two though. As far as popping battles go, it came down to Dustin, Rosko from Vicious Germz, and Devilrock. Rosko was good, but like my boy Nelson said, he was all tricks, he put very little funk and little of himself into his dancing. Anyway, Rosko won, although Dustin really should have, but it was alright though.
But, the highlight of the night was during the intermission, we're all drunk, watchign the circle going on, I don't remember exactly what I said, but it involved telling Nelson to go out in the circle. He did, and he just went off. I always knew Nelson was good, one of the best in this part of the country in my opinion, but he did some shit that just made me put down my camera and go "wtf", lol. But it was probably better watching the reaction from the other poppers there, especially the ones that were actually competing. Some of them thanked the stars that Nelson wasn't competing, cause he would've taken it without a doubt. Only reason he didn't was because Jenn was, go figure though, cause she ended up battling one of us in the first round anyway, lol. As far as the 3 on 3 bboy battle, it came down to Jive Turkeys and Vicious Germs. Of course, Jive Turkeys took it.
We ended the night at Lizard Lounge, a club that I absolutely fell in love with, lol. Being in this bunk ass town, I forgot what a good club with a good DJ sounds like, and the DJ was on hit all damn night. There wasn't a moment where he wasn't playing somethign we couldn't dance to, it was wonderful. Anyway, we were introduced to Damon, aka Dr. Doom, an old skool popper whose style was just cold as fuck. And I learned something to, for some reason I'll get play from girls when I'm out of town, but none in this town, oh well though. Another good event, it was worth the trip, a trip I won't get into, lol. There's another one in Houston at the beginning of the month, I won't be making that one because of previous arrangements. But, I will be making the one mid June, Elements, which will be at the exact same spot as Triple Threat, and will be bigger, and I'm damn sure not missing this one.
As for this weekend, it's the Air Show, yay. For me, you seen one air show, you've seen them all. It's nice to here engines roaring while you're trying to sleep. I would've made an appearance down to the flightline, but I decided to stay in for a much needed break. I'll probably go there tomorrow, just to say I saw the Blue Angels (hell, I've been watching them practice all week, but oh well). Tonight, I'm gonna try to stay in, but it's a sure bet that i'll be going out anyway.
By next month, I should be driving my new car
. I was gonna wait to get a used one, but fuck it, why not just get a new one.
Well, so much for keeping it short, lol. Y'all have a good weekend, until next time.
May the funk be with you.
