BIOGRAPHY OF DALEK:
Its hard to say how Dalek got to where he is today. He really doesnt like to talk about it. So what is left? What are Space Monkeys? Where are they from? Are they born alive, or are they incubated in egg-like vessels? Why do they smirk at us as if they know something we dont? Even when they are suffering from what would be moments of human weakness -- like a hole in the head or a recently amputated limb -- they continue to smile and stare, assuring their control of the moment. Why do they always march to the left? Is there a mothership calling? Are their hearts situated on the left side of their bodies like ours? We can only guess. They stare at us with one large orb of an eye, unintimidated and steadfast in their mission. The eye of the Space Monkey can threaten like a cocked and steadied gun -- it can insult you without warning, or invite you into a happy, carefree world.

BIOGRAPHY OF MIKE GIANT:
Having drawn since childhood, it wasn't until his early twenties that Mike Giant began to pursue art making as a career, it was the end of his fourth year studying architecture in his hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico when he was offered a position drawing graphics for Think Skateboards. He accepted the job and moved north to San Francisco, the city where he would spend the next 10 years and cement his place in the world of fine art. In San Francisco he found the ideal venue for his unique style of artistic expression- graffiti, 'zines, graphic design and ultimately tattoos. In 2001, Giant's artwork transcended its original home on the streets and he had his first solo exhibition at WDWA Gallery in New York City. He has shown his drawings in Tokyo, Japan alongside Sam Flores and Bigfoot, at Misanthropy Gallery in Vancouver, BC as well as countless venues in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Though it is his graffiti art for which he remains most widely recognizable, his tattoo work has become internationally renowned in the relatively short number of years in which he has been tattooing. First working in 1998, Giant has since been employed by exceptional shops in San Jose, San Francisco and New York City, working alongside heavyweights such as Paco Excel, Mike Davis and Patrick Conlan. His recent work can be seen in the 2004 tattoo issue of Juxtapoz magazine. In 2003, after a brief stay in rural France, Giant returned to Albuquerque where he will revisit his old university to study art formally for the first time. He has opened a tattoo shop Stay Gold, in Albuquerque where he continues to tattoo. His drawings can be found on apparel available from Tribal Gear, Upper Playground, and Rebel 8 Clothing, as well as at skullzpress.com Giant uses the venue of the Skullz Press publications to create artwork that expresses his individual interests, apart from the content and structure that is dictated by the limitations of tattooing or drawing for graphics.

ABOUT ART PROSTITUTE
Art Prostitute debuted in April of 2003 and was created by Brian Gibb and Mark Searcy. The Texas based publication's sole purpose is to seek out and feature artists who depend on their creativity to survive. The inclusion of prints from each of the artists featured in an issue is an attempt to further proliferate their imagery in the best way possible, to have it exist outside of the publication. Collaborative projects open to our readers give those who support the project a chance to shape the face of it. At Art Prostitute you decide your own level of involvement.
The purpose of our gallery is the same as our publication, to proliferate artists and their work by bringing it to the people. In addition to art on the walls our space is home to a boutique that offers books, magazines, prints, apparel and other matters of an artistic nature.
