NAPTIME, YO
yep, that's me and my pal Huxley.
and that's what my after-work activity has looked like most of this week after a late Sunday night shredding my eardrums with Boris, Torche and Nachtmystium, followed by metal good times at Beat Kitchen Monday night with Yakuza, Indian and Sweet Cobra. i started the week in severe sleep debt.
this weekend i'll be drawing on credit again, as Wicker Park Fest is here and will be playing host to Polvo, Prefuse 73, Red Sparowes, Isis, and more... and my company will be sharing a table with ASCAP butt-up against the south stage during most of the early part of each day.
as long as i can catch a quick nap here and there with the buddy, i'll be ok.

Nat's all about iTunes now - digging up crazy shit from yesteryear. He goes back to 1930s radio (RADIO!)...... onward to schmaltzy ballads from the 40s...... JAZZ..... bebop....... then came the 60s & he was THERE. He hates disco (except Rose Royce). He hates BOC ("too aesthetic")......prog rock...... & MC5 (because he & Kramer had it out.) We first bonded over Eminem - we had both bought "The Eminem Show" the same day. And he knows the lyrics to everything. Quite a musicologist!
He's actually in the city for our friend's show tonight. Called home stoned & drunk from the club.
I will gather some gems from his collection for you.
And a funny quip: I love Nirvana, he doesn't. He sez, "If Ian Curtis cut the rope, got up & went back onstage...... that's grunge."
