Yesterdays events..... make plumbing and any other gripes so trivial.

I cancelled the plumber yesterday. The cost was too much, the sewage leak was gone and cleaned and I was afraid to turn on water but when one of the kids accidently flushed the toilet I ran downstairs and nothing had happened. SO I tested it by flushing again, then running the washer, and it stayed dry...so I immediately called the ass fucker, errr I mean plumber and cancelled.
Maybe it was just spring run off, we had two feet of snow melt under two days of rain over the weekend...so I assumed it was just that. PLUS we are selling in the spring so it will be someone elses problem... We will just try to hold on till then.
APATHY KILLED THE NEIGHBOURHOOD. The informal group of parents that I started this community centre with had a meeting last night. The city rep was there , as was the Londonintercommunity health people that helped me start this group was there. Mass email was sent out in advance to let the other parents know that we were gonna make a formal committee and nominate people in different roles so that we could facilitate this group better. We have this park and building just sitting there. The group started informally meeting last summer when we ran an outdoor soccer team that had a huge turn out. We parlayed that success with some winter programs for neighbourhood kids run by me and a few other community minded parents.
No one showed up. Just the city reps, and one other mom.
I ran the meeting anyway, cooordinating a spring schedule that includes the outdoor soccer program that was such a hit, and some karate for beginners as well as some adult programming with the centre being used for yoga , that I scheduled for 8 pm ..thinking that moms would have their kids asleep by then...
Why are people so lazy and apathetic???? Why not give an hour a week or so to make our community strong and nice place to live??? Why not give a shit so these kids who are so often overlooked get to experience the thrill of being on a team?

Sometimes I could really use some!!! The other day, I just felt sick to my stomach from it all. It's nice to know other people understand. I know it's not as bad as a lot of people have it, but after so many years it just wears a person down to nothing.
