Well I just got some shitty news in the mail today.
July 23, 2007, I ran over my foot with a scissor lift at work, and have been on workman's comp ever since...
For those of you wondering what a scissor lift is, here is a picture...

The model that ran over my foot was over 2 tons. Nothing broke in my foot but there is massive nerve damage. However, I was diagnosed with something they call RSDS, which basically means that the nerves are uber-sensitive to any stimuli.
So over the last 17 months, I've gone thru procedure after procedure of trying to cause my nerves to reset themselves back to the way they were before the accident. Nothing worked, I felt relief for a little while but then the pain came back with a vengeance. So then my doctor came to the conclusion that inserting a cordical stimulator into my spinal canal would be the best form of relief. At that point I was all for it, and I still am, but Workman's Comp pulled a trump card saying my employer wanted a second opinion before authorizing the surgery. So we got one, his slightly differed from my doctor's diagnosis. So because of that the surgery had to be postponed, this was all back in Feb-March. So after going thru the hoops of tests, MRIs, and other physical examinations we came full circle back in Sept. or Oct. So I've been waiting to hear that WC was going to authorize the surgery since then.
Well my adjuster sent me a certified letter, that I just got today, basically saying that they aren't going to pay for the procedure to put in the cordical stimulator and only offered me $10,000 when the procedure itself costs over $100,000. Hell the simulator itself is around $80,000 according to my doctor. Now I know I've said in the past that I was thinking about getting a lawyer, but now I'm definitely gonna look into it. Any legal advise or possible lawyers anyone knows would be grateful. I'm definitely not looking to hirer an ambulance chaser.
Thanks
