Don't fail me, my minions: I need a topic for a 7 page (doublespaced) paper, with a thesis falling somewhere within the broad realm of death, eating disorders, or binge drinking. I have a week to research and write it. Worse, I seem to have impressed the teacher; he's going to expect a lot from me. Let this be a lesson: never first, never last, never volunteer.
I can't think of anything good that isn't incredibly boring, done to death, or requiring far more than a week to research and write. My first thought was comparing the musical traditions of death and mourning of several cultures. Turns out that falls into the "takes more than a week to research and write" category.
So: "Take other peoples' work and regurgitate it back into something interesting. Make sure you give proper credit to your vomit. No more than 7 pages of vomit, please."
