Coolest art exhibit ever: Slater Bradley's Doppelganger Trilogy. I mean how else could you describe seeing Micheal Jackson moonwalk to a live version of Ian Curtis singing "Decades"? And if that isnt enough, there was always Kurdt perfoming "Negative Creep". Too bad the main exhibit at the Guggenheim was closed. Regardless, it was a great experience to see a FLW in person. He is simply amazing.
Other accomplishments:
Had my Rueben
Had my Belgium Frites (only two years late, but hey who keeping track)
Saw a show at CBGBs before it closes
Saw a show at the Bowery Ballroom (you all need to check out "Aqualung".)
Went to DIA:Beacon and saw a Warhol
Went to Ingo Maurer's only shop
Went to the Soho Apple store
Ate too much raw fish (thats a good thing)
But all of that stuff does not matter. A short condensed version of why would go something like this:
Picture the movie "Garden State", but without the happy ending. Why didnt i get off of the plane when i had a chance? I guess there's always tomorrow but...I want her now. Why must life be so painful?
On a more upbeat note: Picaresque is the BEST Decemberists album to date, which is saying a lot.
