Hunter got beaten up at the club last night. We found out at breakfast. Him and some other guys had been downtown dancing when suddenly some unknown blokes had attacked them from behind and started punching them. The other guy had got out alright, but Hunter hadn't been so lucky. When the dust had settled he had a cut up eyeborw and a broken leg.
The perpetrators had gotten away, but they had been reported to the police. Hopefully they'll catch them. The whole village is sad and upset. Out of all the people I don't want to see broken, Hunter is definitely among the top names. He is clever and competent and has such an integrity that there are few others that I would so gladly fight beside. I am only afraid that being in cast for 5-6 weeks will be discouraging enough for him to apply for next year's course instead. I don't want to weep in advance, but if that happens he will be deeply missed in class.
I'm heading out after school to refill my cupboard and I thought I'd throw something in for him as well. Not that we're that close friends, but just to show that I care. He's going for surgery tomorrow, and I do well remember how tiresome that is. I thought I'd pick out some books, fill a USB stick with movies and some chocolate to go with that. Not that I know if he will have access to any computers, if he reads at all or even if he eats chocolate, but that is what I would have wanted.
After all, it's not like he's going to run down to the kiosk to get it himself.
