Phew, I have to say. It's been a couple of intense weeks. The new officer program did a jump start with uniforms, new faces, new groups and field trips. We even had a fitness test on Tuesday, which came as a surprise to most of us. I didn't pass the requirement level, but it didn't matter. I had been accepted and that was that. I have to pass it later on, but I'm not worried. I'll have time to get that started.
The first week has been lots of fun too, though. We are 117 cadettes, and even though I have barely learned the names of the ones in your group, I still ended up drinking beer every night of the week, each time with different people.
Even though it has only been a short while I have already found a couple of guys I have spoken to more than others. There are two of the guys I met at Kallinge, some guy called Charlie (a real freak head, but funny as hell), one unfortunate bastard with the same name as a very famous murderer here in Sweden (twenty-seven years old, the father of two, hotter than red hot chili pepper and, no, not bitter at all) and this redhead guy from the helicopter section who clearly resembles one of the guys I used to work with in Norway.
Funny thing is, I think I already have a fan in this last guy. We've been flirting slightly ever since the first time we met at Bergmark's place, and on Thursday he bought me a beer and then followed me home. We only had a couple of glasses of water and talked, but he asked for my number and to my great surprise he texted me today, asking me how the moving out went. I told him everything was fine and that he was welcome to help me carry some boxes tomorrow, and to my astonishment he replied; "Sure, but I'll arrive with a pretty late train. I'll call you."
Something tells me he's trying to get something. He is pretty handsome. Actually most of my new acquaintances are, especially him and the killer guy who are pretty much two of the most handsome guys among the cadets). Normally I wouldn't mind, but I am feeling pretty cautious when it comes to shitting where I eat. I don't want it to get ugly already from the start.
Besides, what I want now is more somebody who wants to sit next to me underneath a blanket and watch a movie and stroke my hair.
Still I can't deny that it is undeniably flattering to be courted by one of the most handsome guys in the village. My Samantha Ego is bashing. Absolutely bashing.
You're being sensible though, you may have to last a year with these guys and added complication is probably to be avoided for the time being.
I feel sorry for the guy you've called "the killer guy" he must get that an awful lot.
Glad you're doing well, and that you're getting some good attention. It sounds like the officers program is treating you well. Hope the move goes okay!
