Yesterday I hosted a birthday party for one of my very good friends. It was so fun! We decorated the apartment with streamers and balloons. And baked the birthday cake together.
I made greek food for her - Spanakopita and Greek Salad and Pita with hummus and tzatziki - and I was really happy how it turned out since they seemed to gobble it up!
Seeing them all together again reminded me how much I love my friends - they are a one of a kind group and I feel very lucky that they are in my life.
In other news, work isn't going to go back to fulltime yet. It's really frustrating. I am now totally broke and used almost all of my savings - which is scary.
My boss's computer crashed last week with all our projects and archives on it. He lost it all and now has to spend like $2000 on retrieving the data off of it. But - I saved our business! I had been backing up all of the work I've been doing from home as well as a lot of archived stuff that was on his computer, so that if I couldn't connect to the network I could still do my job. (Also, in case I left the company during this hiatus, I have my full portfolio.) If I hadn't done that then our whole business would have been put on pause until he took his computer in. I feel like I should have earned some work karma or something for that, and I really hope that it makes me more valuable to the company.
