So...A while back I sent a request or I guess you could say applied for a new group here on SG.com. It was on the subject of ocean liners. I'm a huge history fan and I also love ships. You can find out more about ocean liners here.
The point is I was denied. Or at least never replied to. So I figured maybe my subject was just a little to weird or maybe off topic for this site. Tonight I was browsing the SG group section of the site. I saw categories such as WTF?. I also saw group names such as cute overload, mermaids and sirens, hooping, yes hooping, and of course Randomness. Now don't get me wrong, this is all good. But WTF! What gives?
First I would like to state this is not an attack on groups or topics I listed as examples. But I would like to know why my topic was denied or otherwise. I've heard many people say they think sg is a "clicky" place. I would like to believe this is not the case.

A group is basically meant for topics that seem to be too big for a thread in a board. I don't really know how many people are really into Ocean Liners enough for a whole group to be dedicated to it. I'd try to start a discussion on ocean liners in a group like randomness or on a board and see if other people have the same interests. If a surprisingly large group of people have a lot to talk about it then maybe a moderator would see that a group would be a needed thing.
