Warning - This journal entry contains scenes of mild peril and comic violence.
*Wouldn't it be nice if one of these journal entries actually began with me
having something exciting to say ...wild tales of waking up next to Angelina
jolie , getting in a police chase with helicopters and big trucks blowing up
..the full works ..on my way to a meeting with the Don .
But in reality im not a mobster im a pencil pusher for the government , I woke up on my own coughing and spluttering and full of snot ... and I don't have the confidence to be able to drive .... and its just another working afternoon .
*sigh*
*Anyway back to reality ... what do we have to report today ? .. ooh yes The
Fleadh festival . Bob Dylan was an incredible disappointment ... he lurked at
the side of the stage , never came forward , had barely any light on him ,
uttered barely a word to his audience and played one nondescript , unspectacular
tune after the next .. that all kind of blended in to one . And just when people
were starting to enjoy themselves when he played 'like a rolling stone' it was
over . Very disappointing .
The day wasn't all bad though , The Charlatans and Counting Crows put on very good sets . I was especially impressed by Counting Crows actually . I also got
to meet up with my good buddy Paddy down there who I hadn't seen since new year, and we had all kinds of fun talking to random weirdo's and getting tipsy as
the old man was being very generous with the drinks
*Yesterday I met up with my friend Danny for a few drinks and playstation type shenanigans ... and a tip for those who despise football as much as me ..
Wetherspoon pubs apparently don't play sport . So last night during the England
game we had a completely dead , chav free pub .. a little refuge from the storm
*Lordy what else do we have to say? .. im off to the National Film Theatre after
work as they have a Marx brothers season going on .. so me and Alex the guy upstairs whose a member are going to go see 'Duck Soup' . Should be interesting, and if the film theatres any good I may very well join up myself .
*I need to start thinking about what I need to pack for my holiday .. im going
next Saturday and I haven't given it much thought really . Its come round so
bloody quick and im so looking forward to seeing my friends out in Pittsburgh ..
its been far too long .
So yeah I shall most likely start on that at the weekend along with going to the
SG 'art and booze' thingamajig.
*Its so humid today and im boring even myself writing this so I think im going
to wind this up now and go outside for a stroll ... 2 hours till I can leave
...*huzzah*
Anyway im off , take care folks.
-----------------------------------------------
Home from work now - 'Duck Soup' was very funny , made in 1933 and still the jokes remained amazingly fresh . Its quite funny how in 1933 films were made about pointless wars and having complete idiots in charge of countries ... anyone would think they knew what 2004 would be like
[Todays Playlist - Counting Crows/ Hangin Around , Marilyn Manson / Fight Song , Snow Patrol/ Spitting Games]

I really hate the fact that everyday life is so... well, ordinary.
I must seek out some rock n roll shenanigans
