Birthday celebration/fundraiser in LA on Saturday night, click for the details and whatnot if you're able to make it.
I'm still scrambling to get everything together. I'm done sewing stuff (I didn't have much, but I hate sewing more than I hate laundry). I finished painting things last night, and started the process of organizing the bins.
I'm thinking back to a year ago at this time when I was getting ready for the same trip. Not the usual comparing of the stuff I was running around doing then compared with now, but more of the differences in me between then and now.
I hate still not having a day job. The contract/consulting stuff wouldn't be bad if it were regular. This is the longest I've gone without having a steady paycheck in a long history of steady paychecks. But aside from that, I'm pretty happy. Rather than just being someone who says he likes music and art, I'm someone who's involved in it. And not on some hipster level, but down and dirty. I get to help make incredible things happen, I get to make stuff. I've met some incredible people along the way, and made some great and lifelong friends. I could elaborate, but this whole post is all starting to sound like a bunch of tree-hugging hippy crap lol...
In the fall, the art collective I belong to will reach phase 2. That will allow us to do a lot more, as well as expand the nature of what we do. We're also looking at going on a tour of the west coast. Some of my friends are releasing albums, and I'll help them with the marketing end of things. My work is progressing, and I may even wind up with a release or two of my own. I'm also looking to get a loft/warehouse space as well, to sort of help expand operations.
Okay, enough rambling... there is seriously a fuckload of stuff to get done today...

Edited to add - tonight is the Perseid Meteor shower. Best time to watch - after 3am and before dawn. Thank you drive through...
