I return, highly caffinated with more stories to share of expeirences of Burning Man.
I just recived an e-mail and more and more pictures from the event are flooding in, mine on the other hand turned out pretty shitty since I found out too late that taking pictures at night is almost impossible with all of the dust in the air. After reviewing some of the pictures I am glad I missed out on some of the photo shoots that were held out there. I have found I am not one of those people that can look stunningly beautiful while covered in playa dust. I just look dirty.
As I said before I went up for the full 13 days. We arrived at night and could not for the life of us find the Crackhaus which is where we were sleeping, Affter driving around aimlessly for a couple hours we pitched our tents at Thunderdome with the intention of finding the Crackhaus the next day. Turns out it was only 2 blocks back from us across from my other friend's camp which we were hanging out at earlier that night asking them if they knew where the Crackhaus was. Dorks. Well, we found the camp the next day and slowly but surely over the rest of the weeks more and more people trickled in that were camping in Crackhaus and in Thunderdome.
The way they had it set up this year was on the Esplanada we had the Chupacabra Policia, Thunderdome, Camp Carp and the Space Cowboys all next to each other. I found out they planned it that way so they could always have a couple Rangers parked close by.
The ramp of Death was one of the best times I had. Sitting on the front porch of Camp Carp with the rest of Thunderdome and screaming " Ramp of Death! " at the top of our lungs watching as stupidity level rose higher and higher.
One last thing before I finish what is looking to be the second chapter in the series of Burning Man journal entries. I got to help build the dome! It was hard, tedious, sometimes back breaking work but it was so amazing after it was finished and realizing you played a part in building that fucker. I haven't worked with my hands very much in the past couple years and I am coming to realize I miss it.
Okay, that is it. I will write more later. Maybe someday I will actually be able to finish this but I doubt it. As much as I try it is impossible to explain how amazing this event was if you have never seen it before....but because I am anal with my writing I will be a dork and contradict myself and continue to try
