So this week was pretty random.
I didn't get much sleep for a majority of the week, I went to a bunch of different bars and restaurants, and now I'm just kicking it. It's raining so I guess it's a good night to stay in. The worst is when you're accustomed to going out then on a down night, you're like, "What the hell? Shouldn't I be doing something?". I did download some new music by Flying Lotus - you should totally check 'em out. This video is pretty ill:

It's Saturday, it's still early yet and thought I could brave an internet chat room but honestly, internet chat seems pretty over rated. The thing is, usually there's like 2-3 people who dominate the room so there's still this outsider/hierarchy dynamic to it. Case and point, I simply said, "Happy saturday, all" and was met with somebody who replied "noob". Well fuck you asshole - I at least said hello. There was like 40+ ppl on the chat and I guess we were all watching a conversation while being hogged by ppl sending _italic_ innuendos and all the rest of the guests were wall flowers. Not to piss and moan.. I'm sorry
Anyway, tomorrow we're jamming with a new drummer! It will be great since we haven't played in a while and quite frankly, I'm a tad on the rusty side. I found out how much I'm getting from my annual bonus so I can finally pick up a practice amp. We practice at a high school band room and the bass amp itself is great but the speakers are TOTALLY jacked up. Rather than bringing out my full on rig, it's nice to have a small amp. Plus my full rig is overkill for smaller venues or our rehearsal spots.
I will be going to Seattle for a week later this month. That will be hella fun since it's on the company's dime. My manager pinged me this week and mentioned that 1) my vacation hours are maxed out, and 2) over the past year, I've only taken 6 days off between sick time and vacation time. If there's anybody in cyberland that lives in Seattle, please give me a hollar. I would totally love to hang out with locals rather than touristy places. Also, if you want a free lunch, that can be easily accommodated.
Till next time,
Niko
